Our Cultural Community

We, the descendants of the Efik people of Cross River State of Nigeria, living in the United States, unite to celebrate our common ancestry, and enrich our host communities with our cultural heritage. By promoting unity, cultural pride, and mutual support, we create an inclusive space for members and supporters to connect and celebrate the Efik culture. Through educational programs, cultural events, and community outreach, GLEA fosters belonging and continuity while welcoming those interested in Efik traditions and customs.

The Great Lakes Efik Association of North America is dedicated to preserving and promoting Efik heritage through various cultural programs and community events. We strive to build a vibrant and inclusive environment where members can connect, share, and celebrate their cultural identity with pride and authenticity.
